MOON RISE
| This Photograph is presented in black and white since the addition
of color did not add but in fact detracted from it's impact. It contains many very
desirable elements. The composition is unique - it draws the eye into the picture
from the upper right corner, down the tree trunk to the array of root patterns containing
different sizes, shapes, details and densities. The eye is then contained within the
image by the contrasting shape of the rock pattern in the lower left and then onto the
array of fine root patterns in the lower right. Finally, the moon (yes, placed in a
very critical spot) adds a degree of fantasy and finalizes the exploration. In
addition, the overall image has very detailed highlights and shadows and intricate
patterns in the bark, roots and dirt. |
